Requesting data deletion

You can ask us to delete the personal information we hold about you at any time, and we will. Here is exactly how, and what happens next.

Send one email

Use the subject line "Data deletion request" and include:

  • Your name
  • The email address or phone number you used with us
  • Which business's website or assistant you dealt with, if you know it

That is all we need. You do not need an account with us to make a request.

What happens, and how fast

7 daysWe confirm we have received your request
30 daysDeletion completed and confirmed to you

If any information has to be kept, we will tell you what and why. The usual reason is a legal one, such as invoicing records we are required to retain for tax purposes. We do not keep anything simply because we would like to.

What gets deleted

If you connected a Facebook or Instagram account to us

You can remove our access yourself at any time: go to your Facebook or Instagram settings, open Apps and Websites (or Business Integrations), find Social Web, and remove it. That revokes our access immediately.

To also have the associated stored data deleted from our systems, email privacy@socialweb.ai and we will delete the stored authorisation token and any publishing records tied to that connection, then confirm it to you.

If you visited a client's website

Websites and assistants we run are operated on behalf of the business you were dealing with. You can email us directly using the address above, or ask that business and they can instruct us on your behalf. Either route works.

If you are not satisfied

Contact us first and we will try to resolve it. If you are still not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or 1300 363 992.

Full detail on what we collect and why is in our Privacy Policy.
